  • Looking for TROUBLE?

Bilito from 'Best Revenge' does another great rock and roll club in L.A. and this month is gonna be offthemuthfuckin' hook!

At the end of each month, when you've had your fill of tired electroclash wet jockstrap nights, sick of cabana rooms packed with Nair'd leatherbears and newly furry white party riot grrrls, and you've had the last bit of thumpin trance n' deep-house drag queen patio beer busts that you can handle, TROUBLE offers a refreshing alternative, every fourth Saturday of the month, at Silver Lake's hottest up-and-coming dive leather dance bar (?), MJ's, at 2810 Hyperion Ave.

TROUBLE. We're not sure what it is, but it's guaranteed to be cheap fun.

    THIS MONTH! Listen, fuckers:

The Mormons are playing and Bil has to say that aside from The Sharp Ease and IAMLOVED, they are the best band in Los Angeles right now. (Sorry boys, but 3rd place is still pretty good). They are Mormon missionaries, bringing the good latter-day word. I have not yet told them that they'll be playing a, uh, gay-bar, so this should be pretty great.

    Now, check this:
Our friend, Spike, of the Club KY in SF, is bringing his friends The Eddie Haskells to join the party. It's about time a real punk band finally played at a leather-dance bar in Silver Lake, don't you think? (Oh, except for Glue. Thanks, Glue!).

This night could get messy, so look out, chillen!
...and here's the best part! Your favorite host, FriskyBigPickleFuckaGlockaspheil returns to spin The Wheel of Trouble!!!!! You must accept your fate.

We've got Rock. There's some Roll. We have Mormons, Gay Porn, Haskells and the Like. We've got Drink Specials, Pony Rides, Ice Cream, and Mutton Bustin'! You don't have any reason to be anywhere else. Come to MJ's or be killed. That's our guarantee. LA, we love you. Thanks for the support. Sign the guest list, and we'll see you next month.

    scutter
Scutterfest is a collective that presents a series of concerts, performances, and art exhibits to raise scholarship money for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, and Transgendered youth artists. Scutterfest believes that if one misrepresented culture is able to raise its voice, then others may follow; and in order to do so, a culture's youths must be given the chance to develop their voices, and to be heard. Scutterfest hopes that dismantling stereotypes within the GLBT community will also help reduce biases associated with other cultures, races, and genders.
